I love the vast landscapes and majestic views, these give perspective to one’s own life. But what really makes me tick, is the beauty of imperfection and fleeting time. Nothing compares to finding beauty in ordinary and plain sights and details. You can find me most enthusiastic with my camera in the front of wilted plants, twigs and seemingly insignificant debris and trash. These keep me grounded, keep me in the present and accepting and rejoicing the everlasting change.
Yield of the forest
Nothing is lost in the forest, nothing is useless, nothing is wasted. Layers upon layers create a sense of time. Nothing ends, it just changes shape. Time of a forest isn’t harsh, it’s solacing. Forest doesn’t take, it doesn’t hurry. Cycle of time prevails the landscape. Time and eternity are present everywhere.
Imagination of ice
This winter has been moody in Southwest Finland. The weather has been constantly changing. Temperatures have been mostly mild which lead to short period of supporting ice cover. However, at the same time this winter has been great to enjoy nature’s own art form of imaginative and inspiring ice formations.
Now only memories remain from ice and photographs that support the memories.
Light and shadow
Spring is getting closer every day. Birds are singing in chorus. Light is coming back to the landscape.
Gatherers and cultivators
There are cultivators and gatherers. Many of us are more of one of them and probably most of us are little bit of both.
I myself am at first a gatherer. I love to find new places, discover new landscapes, paths and experiences. I long for travel, walks under the trees, by the river and along the sea shore. I gather experiences and flourish in seeing and feeling new things. This all comes primarily from photography. Photography makes me concentrate, look closer and search for new unseen aspects.
