“Now you can see me”, 8+3 AP.

There’s so much noise in this world. It prevents us from seeing, from being present. 

I used to drive by this tree frequently, sometimes daily. It grew by an intersection of a busy road. 

It still remains there but a big part of it has fallen and been removed. I think it must have been passed by millions of times, and probably hardly ever noticed. 

I saw this tree for the first time when I walked past it, and it stuck with me. Although I had passed it by several times by car before, I had never seen it. 

I had to come back with my camera. 

The tree looked bare and like it had experienced hard times but still self-respecting. It had been sheltering and nourishing for little creatures. Some of the branches were giving up. But there was something so touching about this tree, it looked like such a personality. 

I felt that it was asking to be noticed to be looked at and photographed, the same way as I often feel when taking photographs. 

When we measure worth with money or use value, this tree seems worthless. This tree is just waiting for the road to be extended, area to be developed or built. 

For me this tree gave an opportunity to notice it and to understand how we value with our eyes and leave much of our surroundings unnoticed when striving forward. 

Just because we can’t see it, doesn’t make it worthless.
